Edwardian House Flowers

The seeds of Edwardian House Flowers were first sown during lockdown. How I felt for those neighbours without gardens and so I tried to think of a way in which I could share mine. I began giving away little jars of flowers around the neighbourhood, something which brought me much joy. The response was truly heartwarming but I soon ran out of flowers!
My garden style has always been quite wild: masses of native greenery with the odd pop of colour from a briar rose or a foxglove. The collapse in quick succession of three (three!) beloved old trees and several fences cracking under the weight of a monster ivy left me with big bare patches of light and so I began to sow flowers: wild, semi wild, scented and beautiful. Uncultivated stretches remained in order to protect wildlife but hardscaped areas and lawn disappeared under no dig beds.
The pandemic ended but my passion for cultivating and experimenting with all things floral was growing and growing along with my new blooms. I wanted the whole neighbourhood to know that just one leafy handful of sweet smelling flowers, picked at dawn in a nearby garden and arranged in the simplest of vases could give us that precious shot of the natural world that we city dwellers all desperately need. And so began Edwardian House Flowers.
